Click on the button below to go to the Blog page to view a great video that relates to something we have been discussing for the last year.  It is  under the Featured Posts and titled "5 Minutes for the Next 50 Years of Your Life".

The first person to mention this at practice and come up with what it relates to will not have to run the last 7 minutes of our conditioning at the end of practice that day.

For new players that might not know what it relates to will not have to run the last 7 minutes it they are the first person at practice to tell me that they watched the video.

LINDSAY'S LAW : SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST IN YOUTH ATHLETES

Lindsay's Law is about Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in youth athletes.  It covers all athletes 19 years or younger who practice for or compete in athletic activities.  Activities may be organized by a school or youth sports organization.

Senate Bill 252 is named for national heart health advocate and former Miss Ohio Lindsay Davis who suffers from a heart condition and has since dedicated her career  to raising awareness of this potentially fatal condition.  SCA is the leading cause of death in student athletes 19 years of age or younger.  SCA occurs when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating.  This cuts off blood flow to the brain and other vital organs.  SCA is fatal if not treated immediately.

Linsay's Law requires both the youth athlete and parent/guardian to acknowledge receipt of information about Sudden Cardiac Arrest by signing a form.  The required handout and signature form will be provided at the upcoming Parent/Player Meeting.  Click on the button below to view the Video  and obtain more information.
